Tullahoma Industries provides tactical and military style apparel to the government. They also wanted to allow consumers to purchase select items directly with a secondary business, Brigade Tactical. The problem was that their current site was very antiquated and didn't have a lot features they needed. Consumers had to fill out paperwork and call the orders in directly. Unfortunately, this model doesn't allow for large expansion since it involves more customer interaction and effort than is necessary. Expansion in sales would mean an expansion in customer service personnel. Brigade Tactical needed an e-commerce solution with shipping rules, user creation, and order tracking.
Brigade Tactical was provided several solutions. First off, their e-commerce store was given a killer look and feel by designer Sean Furr. This gave an amazing first impression to customers shopping for consumer tactical apparel. On the back end, Brigade Tactical was integrated with the Joomla platform as the content management system. The e-commerce solution, Virtuemart, was used to satisfy the transactional needs. Virtuemart handled the complex shipping rules, payment gateway integration, product management, and user management for returning customers. We hired a photographer to take high quality photos of the tactical apparel, and we build out the custom fields to display all of the many options available for the products.
